Joss Stone

Joss Stone embodies a rare coupling of qualities—she’s a young sensation who's not a diva. And though this Grammy winner is only 20, she sings as if she’s lived a whole lifetime of loving and losing.
But if you want to know the juicy details, you’ll have to study her lyrics. Stone manages her own life very privately. She won’t say whom she’s dating, but she was happy to share the qualities she finds appealing in the opposite sex. "For a man to be attractive, he has to be a man," she says without a hint of hesitation. "It's that simple, guys.” Stone likes men who provide the strength a woman needs. “Let me know I’m cared for, and I’ll provide everything else for myself,” she says.
Joss' Tips:
  • Go after her, fairy-tale style. "Be the man in a fairy tale—chase the girl. If you can't, don't wonder why you're not attracting women."
  • Learn from lyrics. "It's in all those old songs—'love me better, I want to love you right, don't stand me up, don't disrespect me.' Soul lyrics are a guide to the way women think."
  • Talk to her. "India.Arie wrote a song called 'Talk to Her.' It goes, 'Don't get smart with her, have a heart-to-heart with her, just like you would with your daughter.' That's good advice
